History

Neighborhood Risk Management Corporation (NRMC) is a collaborative, member-driven organization. NRMC was created in 2005 by NeighborWorks America (www.nw.org) to address the insurance and risk management needs of its members and the challenges that many NeighborWorks organizations (NWOs) were facing in obtaining property and general liability insurance in the traditional insurance market. Affordable housing and projects sponsored by NWOs require insurance carriers who are attuned to the unique needs of our membership.  NRMC has developed an insurance program that effectively addresses those needs and provides training programs that are tailored to our members’ affordable housing missions.

Since its formation, NRMC has provided its members with broader insurance coverage and lower rates than are offered in traditional insurance markets. Simply put, NRMC is able to provide insurance coverage that surpasses what its members could otherwise obtain on their own in the market. In addition, NRMC provides its members with risk reduction, loss mitigation, and related educational programs that are tailored to the needs of NWOs.
